On 28 oct 2021, Facebook Announced Meta — the Facebook company’s new name. Meta is helping to build the metaverse, a place where users can meet and connect in 3D. its supposedly next phase of social connection.

How would people react to it?

Some did not like the company rebranding, but for most it was a surprise change.

Facebook's social media platform will keep its current name. which means the Metaverse

is a new product.


what does Meta even means?

It have Original Greek Origin— Meta from the Greek μετα-, meaning "after" or "beyond".

Zuckerberg said he liked Meta because it's a Greek word, 

but we think he got this word from the HTML header <meta> which means "Description"  :)


what does Meta name change affect Facebook stock?

Since Facebook stock is for the entire company, and metaverse is new added product, the Risk is moderate, and the success of the Metaverse [hopefully] will help increate value of the stock NASDAQ: FB.
